Meet 20-year-old Leandré Philander from Eerste River in Cape Town. She attended Malibu High School and, in 2020, she decided to apply for the Eat Out Food School Learnership Class of 2021.

Leandré says the Eat Out Food School has already taken her to places that she has only dreamed about. She is currently working in the kitchen of Tjing Tjing Torii in Cape Town, and she loves every aspect of what she does.

Her favourite part is exploring other cultures. Her dream is to become a head chef and to own her own restaurant in order to create employment opportunities for others and to show children from her area that you can make it in life if you are willing to put in the hard work.
