Award-winning and much-loved local wine brand Nederburg has launched an initiative worth nearly R1-million to help assist the local restaurant industry.
Restaurants across the country have undergone several challenges from the impacts of the pandemic, lockdown regulations, looting to loadshedding and more.
All these conditions have resulted in many restaurants either closing their doors, downscaling or experiencing severe financial strain.
Titled #TastesOfSouthAfrica, the initiative works on an incentive basis as it encourages locals to head to their favourite licensed restaurants.
Jackie Olivier, marketing manager for Nederburg emphasises that the campaign is aimed at assisting the restaurant industry.
“Restaurants have been amongst the hardest-hit sectors in the pandemic. We hope this campaign will bring people back to dining out again. Restaurants, service staff and the public all need an incentive to get the momentum going.”
Partnering with 150 restaurants across the country, Nederburg is giving away R600 000 in vouchers through selected retailers.
Locals must purchase a bottle of wine from any of the following participating restaurants or retailers including; Checkers, Pick & Pay, Spar, Makro, Butchers Block, Del Forno, Cattle Baron, Hussar Grill, Del Forno, Dros, Butchers Block, Olive & Oil, Atasca, La Parada, Tigersmilk, Butcher Boys, Capello and Billy G’s. These vouchers will be able to be redeemed at participating restaurants and eateries from August to the end of September. Some of these restaurants include Tigers Milk, Hussar Grill Cattle Baron, Hussar Grill, Del Forno, Dros, Butchers Block, Olive & Oil, Atasca, La Parada, Tigersmilk, Butcher Boys, Capello and Billy G’s.
