Having eaten at the new Ethos in Oxford Parks on numerous occasions and enjoyed it, I was very disappointed when I went back and ordered the same meal I always do (Lamb Kleftiko) and it arrived dry and flavorless. I sent it back hoping they could try again, but no instead I was told to forget that item because the kitchen was unlikely to get it right again and order something else. Obvious disappointment. Why can’t the kitchen fix it? I then ordered some very mediocre prawns and matchstick fries, which arrived limp and soggy. To add insult to injury, the chef comes out to talk to us and we explain what happened and he got all stroppy with us and stormed off. If this is the level of service their providing, it’s going to take the same turn as it did in its last location. Pity. Luke Dale Roberts had done an amazing job upgrading their menu but the execution and poor attitude is going to fail them. Waiting staff were very good.
