AVOID THIS PLACE!!! THEY COPIED MY BOYFRIEND'S DEBIT CARD AND THEN WITHDREW MONEY FROM IT!! My boyfriend and I had a lunch at this place (Ocean basket Camps bay) on January 25, 2019. The meal and the service was fine. Then we wanted to pay with a debit card. This debit card was swiped into one machine (a silver one) and then my boyfriend typed the PIN number. The machine didn’t work, it just printed out a paper with "Network failure" printed on it. Then the waiter told us that we can try with another machine. This time another waiter brought a different machine (a black one) and we were able to pay. We flew back to our country on January 27 and arrived on January 28. As soon as we arrived at home my boyfriend just randomly checked his bank account and discovered that 3 transactions had been made on his debit card, money was withdrawn from 3 different ATMs situated in two different locations. Ocean basket was the last place were we used that debit card, in other places we used cash because we wanted to spend all our rand bills since we were about to leave in two days. It is more than evident that both waiters were “working” together making fraud. I wonder if the managers are also involved since this happen to more people according to Tripadvisor references and apparently niether the managers nor the owners haven't done anything about it!!!!
