Dinner: Monday to Saturday 6.30pm to 10.30pm
The prominent arches and rich oak panels of the Sherwood Room are the focal architectural feature of the hotel’s original dining room. Looking up, the story of the South African colonies of the British empire adorn the pressed ceilings, and do note the minstrel gallery upstairs too. The wooden chairs were the old deck chairs used by the first-class passengers on the Union-Castle Shipping Lines. The three beautiful large-scale Keiskamma Trust Tapestries of indigenous plants presiding over the far side of the restaurant were created by very talented women in the rural parts of the Eastern Cape, using brightly coloured embroidery threads, felt and fibres. The seasonal menus have been created by Executive Chef Rudi Liebenberg who is is an ardent supporter of sustainable farming and the farm-to-fork method of sourcing and serving produce for his restaurant…so you can feel good about enjoying your exquisite cuisine, accompanied by the seductive melodies of our pianist Henry Dike. Open Monday–Saturday, 6:30–10:30pm
