Iconic Johannesburg hotel The Westcliff has announced plans to host an exciting series of pop-up lunches with Michelin-starred chef Vincent Lucas of Etincelle restaurant in Sainte Sabine, France. The lunches will take place on the 17th, 18th and 21st of March and include an extravagant tasting menu and French wine pairing.
Vincent Lucas is well-respected for his modern, gastronomic cooking at Etincelle, which is located in the Bordeaux region of France. According to online reviews, he treats his guests like they’re eating in his home and he often has no set menu because he changes his dishes with the seasons. The pop-up at The Westcliff forms part of a larger campaign to promote French cuisine across the world.
The tasting menu will feature seven courses, including seared tuna with tomato salad topped with anchovy accents, and for mains a saddle of lamb served with confit squid atop chestnut risotto. Expect refined French delights like canelé for dessert, as well as a cheese course. The wines on offer will be from highly prized estates and domains in France.
Tickets cost R1 995 and include all food and drinks. Book your ticket here.
I would love to book a table for two on the 21st .
