Jono Kirby and Malcolm Hozack – the owners of Hell’s Kitchen and Santa Muerte – are opening a new restaurant, this time with a sophisticated focus on food. Named The Lonely Hearts Club, the restaurant will be housed in a landmark building (one of Melville’s oldest shops) and will suitably play music from the 80s.

Rayno Adlam and Duncan Sheedy are the experienced chefs who will be at the helm, producing exciting sharing plates in their new charcoal Spanish oven. The dishes will be affordably priced, conducive to ordering more than one plate. Mains can be enjoyed in the same sharing way, but there will be also be mains served in the traditional way.

The bar is housed in a separate space, that was once a gallery. Here, one can order tapas-style plates along with wines and beers.

Inside, murals by Rob D add to the vibe of the place, while the enticing outdoor courtyard features a giant olive tree. This courtyard will eventually become a breakfast spot.

The Lonely Hearts Club will open on Thursday 1 March in Seventh Street, next to The Ant.
