I'm a big fan of the Hanger steak cut of beef that is on the menu here, and I've had it there probably 6 times before - always tasty. Ate there with my wife last night (around 6 PM, so many open tables and not at all busy when we were seated). Much to my disappointment the waitron returned to the table after we ordered to inform us that the kitchen was out of Hanger steaks. Let me emphasize that I stress this point because Hanger steaks are not often served by most steak houses and to cook it right the grille man must know his trade - if not cooked properly it can be tough; but grilled right, it is a flavourful and a different lean alternative to the normally top-priced fillet which I ordered (2X the price of the Hanger steak). I've read that Hanger steak is often called the "butchers cut" because the butcher takes it home as his choice and that's part of the reason that they don't often make it to the consumer plate! Our waitron must of been having an off night, she never checked back with our table to see if things were OK? We'd actually ordered their tasty onion rings as a starter and another server who brought our mains had to be reminded and re-ordered (sadly, they came to the table after we'd finished our mains). Fill-in waitron was very cordial and profusely apologetic, but circumstances seemed such that it should have attracted the attention of a Manager, but none came.
As a result of our less than satisfactory dining experience, BCG has likely dropped our list of preferred establishments.
