In a noble – and hilarious – pursuit, a New York baker called Kat Thek is trying to change the world one cake at a time by copying the nasty words of internet trolls onto confectionery and sending them to the perpetrators in the post.
Through her Troll Cakes initiative, her hope is that the guilty will see their unpleasant words, cringe, and repent but, as Grub Street reports, the chocolate brownie cakes are sweetly decorated with icing, fondant and sprinkles, are not poisoned, and taste good, so we’re not so sure about that result. Not at all.
If you live in the USA, you can order one for your tormentor today for the low, low price of $35. One downside of having this service available to you is that you have to share the country with its current president, who is, unsurprisingly, a regular recipient of the troll cakes.
So, the next time your high-school ‘friends’ engage in a flame war with you online, or make a thoughtless comment on the photo of your beautiful dinner/dog/daughter, consider some soothing, therapeutic baking. We vote you eat it yourself, though.
The @troll_cakes Instagram is genius (if NSFW in parts), and includes the following gems:
That’s gotta burn:
Even queen Oprah herself gets things wrong sometimes. With trolling by Jamie Oliver:
When will people learn? If you don’t have something nice to say…
We’ve all had unsolicited personal comments from well-meaning (but actually just mean) family members:
And, the ultimate insult:
Ouch.
