Johannesburg’s newest Italian casual-dining concept, Rosto, will offer locals a taste of Italian street food when it opens next month on 7th Street in Linden.
The focus of this new all-day eatery will be on fresh, seasonal food cooked in the on-site wood-fired rotisserie oven. While the team has been keeping mum on what will be on the menu, judging by their logo and a few tweets we can bet on free-range chicken dishes, real-deal focaccia and bread made with natural yeasts, and some classic Italian desserts. The restaurant has also made mention of an option to eat in, or take home.
Rosto will also offer a selection of local and imported craft beers, Italian craft sodas and a selection of wine. Those looking for a caffeine kick can look forward to imported brews from Illy for a true Italiano experience.
Rosto is set to open in mid- to end-July. Stay tuned to Eat Out for more on the food and the official opening dates.
