1. Choose a gin from 13 desirable and boutique bottles, including Cruxland, Jorgensen’s, Inverroche and The Botanist.
2. Pick one of 12 unusual and familiar tonics and mixers like pink lemonade, Socks Tonic and Fever Tree.
3. Select a garnish from the range of fragrant vegetable, fruity, floral and herby choices. Voilà!
The food is attractive too, including the likes of crumbed chicken in sage mustard; beef sliders; platters of halloumi, mango, feta, avo and chilli; and biltong with jalapeño dip.
The top-floor venue has a huge balcony from which to watch the sunset, when the party lights begin to compete with the stars. There are heaters for cooler weather.
Jessica McDonald of Levelthree is hoping guests will get the name and wear some fusion fashion for the occasion. She explains, “We want interesting people to socialise in a relaxed way and enjoy their own city – with their very own tailor-made gin fusions.”
Attendees are welcome to pop in and out from midday onwards, or settle at tables for the duration, finding their perfect fusions, eating and listening to the live music and DJs. If you don’t want gin, there’s pretty much everything else to drink, too, including SKYY vodka and Jose Cuervo tequila.
Gin Fushion is happening at Levelthree, 14A Kramer Road, Kramerville, Sandton on Saturday 9 April 2016. Doors open at 12 noon and entrance is R100. Follow Gin Fushion on Twitter @ginfushion for updates.
