At De Warenmarkt the menu sees the likes of gourmet burgers, exotic Thai beef salad with coconut, mouthwatering rump steaks, their small plates include yellowfin tuna tartar, beef tataki, bitterballen and other delectable bites. Ask your waiter for a biltong slicer and slice the all time SA favourite. They are also home to Stellenbosch's very own rotisserie chicken. They also serve breakfast every day.

Terribly disappointed with the service. We ordered for a table of eight and it took over an hour to get the food and there was over a fourty minute gap between the first person getting the food and the last person getting the food. We also had a kosher person order a crepe with chicken and the chef exchanged it with ham without telling us because he thought, “we wouldn’t notice.” Totally inappropriate. Will not return

Didn’t have the best first impression on the Friday evening after trying to make a reservation. Nevertheless, made a reservation for the Saturday evening based on local recommendations. Saturday evening: Waitress was great and really gave good suggestions. The food was good and well-prepared. Only one problem: the steak was so tough that it actually was not edible. The management apologized and removed it from the bill. But the experience from the Friday evenings bad reception and the steak has left the proverbial bad taste in our mouths.
