After the tragic fire last year which engulfed Madame Zingara in Bree Street, owner Richard Griffin has not disappointed his myriad of fans by launching a new spectacular venture.
The Theatre of Dreams tent is Madame Zingara’s new travelling ‘dinner-tent’ all the way from Belgium, which at the moment, is ‘pitched’ near Table Bay Boulevard in Cape Town’s Foreshore and will hopefully be touring other SA cities too after four months.
The concept is to step into a sort of otherworldly twilight zone, where acrobats, singers and other live performers are de rigeur. The tent has been open for two weeks (enough to sort out any teething problems!) and seats an amazing 300 people an evening.
The cost is R300 per person, excluding drinks, for a fabulous four-course meal (and various performances between courses). At the moment, the show is titled ‘Arabesque’, directed by Valentine Love and starring Irit Noble.
Transport yourself this Friday evening!
