As the mornings get chillier lately, I start to think of eating food that is oh-so indulgent.
I want to enjoy dishes that are really special and I am going to start preparing treats at home that are richer and more decadent.
I am thinking braised veal shanks with creamy dollops of saffron-flavoured risotto and plenty of one-pot dishes that are cooked slowly in my new Le Creuset pot with large doses of wine (in the pot!).
As for eating out, I cant wait to sample some of the chefs winter menus.
Look out for those bits and pieces…things like offal, tripe pan-fried in breadcrumbs, rolled cheek and tongue of veal poached with a drizzle of a mustardy vinaigrette or even grilled rabbit with bacon and celeriac creamed potatoes.
Dont spend too much time snuggling up at home watching the casserole simmer, eat out and enjoy.
