New: Platine

A new addition to the Cape Towns upmarket dining circuit, Platine,  has opened in the heart of the Mother City.

Chef Matt Kneipp hails from Brisbane in Australia having worked as the senior sous chef at L’Escargot in London as well as a stint under the acclaimed Marco Pierre White.

With his focus on fresh ingredients, elements of the menu will change on a daily basis. Expect creations such as ravioli of braised snails, best end of Karoo lamb or local game with butternut pureé and an orange scented endive tatin.

The decor reflects the name – which is French for platinum – in muted tones of grey and silver, against a beautiful backdrop of Devils Peak.
