If youre fanatical about food and enjoy fine music, youd be delighted to know that Savoy Cabbages popular opera evenings are back for the Autumn Season, starting 10 April.
Join hosts Caroline Bagley and Frank Winter, together with chef Peter Pankhurst and Waterford Wine Estate for an evening of opera, light classics and fine food, with acclaimed soprano Marion Roberts, who recently starred as the Queen of the Night in William Kentridges adaptation of Mozarts Magic Flute.
Indulge in a delicate starter such as ballotine of Franschhoek salmon trout with cauliflower panacotta and pickled cauliflower while listening to music by Straus, Puccini, Lehar and Verdi, and finish with a decadent combination of treacle tart with vanilla ice-cream and banana crisps, to the sophisticated sounds of Cole Porter, Gershwin and Lloyd Webber.
The cost is R330.00 per head, including entertainment, service and a glass of wine with each course. Booking is strongly advised.
