On the 30th of July, Cape Towns favourite whisky bar, Bascule, presents a refreshing variation on the traditional food and wine pairing, decadently matching a four course meal with four variants in the range of Glenfiddich Single Malt whiskys.
For starters savour baby scallops with vegetables “mariniere and olive oil” paired with the Glenfiddich 12 year old, the pioneer of the single malt Scotch whisky category.
The Glenfiddich 15 year old is to follow, accompanied by a spice-crusted line fish, with the Glenfiddich 18 year old complementing a “Pot-au-feu” veal.
Dessert is passionfruit gratin and dark chocolate mousse served with the Glenfiddich 21 year old, an exceptional whisky that has been finished for four months in barrels that once contained rum from the Caribbean.
As a final luxury Glenfiddich liqueur will off-set white mint chocolate truffles, with some optional coffee or tea.
The evening will start at 19h00 in the Bascule Lounge with a whisky cocktail and canapés. Moving upstairs to the Conservatory at 19h30, guests will be able to enjoy the single malts with their meal, prepared by the creative team of chefs in onewaterfront.
