onewaterfront relaunched as Signal

The Cape Graces onewaterfront restaurant has relaunched as Signal.

Shortly after the much anticipated refashioning of Cape Grace’s guest rooms and suites the creative energy was channeled into the food and beverage departments of this 5-star Waterfront hotel.

THE NAME

The Mother City has a peculiar habit – at exactly 12h00 every day, Capetonians check their watches as a loud bang is fired from a cannon on Signal Hill, announcing to the city that midday has arrived.

With panoramic views of Signal Hill, SIGNAL restaurants name honours this true Capetonian heritage.

THE STYLE OF FOOD

Created by a talented culinary team, the style of food is notably Cape with an international flair. The menu incorporates numerous influences from the many cultures that have called upon this region during its history, namely French Huguenots, British settlers as well as the Dutch, and Asian traders.

THE MENU

Guests can expect to enjoy provenance foods that connect them with local farmer’s offerings. Highlights from the menu will include the Arniston Fish Soup or Minestrone with Fresh Herbs and Gnocchi. The whole Stanford Salmon Trout ‘a la provençale’ is a delicious main served with a side order of fresh seasonal steamed vegetables with Asian herb dressing. And for the more hungry, the Karoo Lamb Shoulder, slow cooked with fresh Thyme should seal the deal.
