Bouchard Finlayson receives global recognition

Respected US wine magazine Wine Spectator has lauded Bouchard Finlayson wines with outstanding recommendations in recent months. The vineyard’s full range of wines scored an average rating of 90 points, bar one. The magazine’s 100-point scale system grades any wine over 85 as ‘very good’ while scores over 90 are considered ‘outstanding’.

In January, the 2007 Galpin Peak Pinot Noir, described as “stylish, with long lingering notes of black cherry, spice and sweet earth”, scored 91 points with reviewer James Molesworth, who also commented that the 2007 edition is “the best bottling yet from this Pinot specialist”.

In the February edition of the magazine, both the 2007 Sauvignon Blanc and the Sans Barrique Chardonnay were awarded ‘Top Value wines for 2008’, both scoring above 88 points.

Bouchard Finlayson will participate in the May 2009 Wine Spectator Grand Tour in Chicago, Las Vegas and Atlantic City, and Peter Finlayson will be on board to represent the wine farm.
