On 22 August, the restaurant at Montagus much-loved Mimosa Lodge, will be celebrating their newly acquired duck press with a sumptuous French-inspired menu.
Chef Bernhard Hess will be using the duck press to prepare the French classic, canard au sang (pressed duck), a recipe attributed to the famous La Tour d’Argent restaurant in Paris.
The only one of its kind in South Africa, this press was designed and manufactured by the Wine Machinery company in Stellenbosch, as a replica of the original French version.
Quite appropriately, the evening’s dishes will be paired with Retief Goosen’s “The Goose” Wines.
