A legend of the Durban restaurant scene is back – and he’s no less opinionated and bombastic, and cooking as well as ever.

Enrico Ferrari, who made Villa d’Este one of the city’s top restaurants, first on the beachfront and later in Glenwood, has come out of retirement to lend a hand at Al Firenze in Glenashley. New owner Tony de Sousa gives Enrico free rein at lunchtime when he produces specials such as courgette, spinach and herb risotto. Expect reasonably priced, classic Italian food.
