Cru Café is one of the stylish newcomers at the recently opened Cape Quarter extension in Cape Towns De Waterkant, where brothers Jacques and Tom Castelein, together with chef Wesley Petterson, aim to bring Capetonians a deliciously fresh angle on the classic wine bar concept.

The cafés impressive wine list presents over 120 choices, with over 90 percent of the list consisting of South African wines.

One of the innovative concepts include wine flights, where guests can choose one specific varietal and taste three different wines from it, accompanied by a snack to complement the wine.

“It’s a way for wine lovers to taste different wines without buying the whole bottle,” explains Jacques.

Chef Pettersons menu is inspired by the flavours of central Europe and the Mediterranean, using only the freshest ingredients.
