Owner's description

We are passionate about wholesome, freshly prepared, locally sourced food. If it doesn’t grow or graze on the farm, we will track down a local producer or fair trade supplier for any ingredients that we need for our seasonal, bistro-style menu.

Recommended! Friendly, sweet service and good main course (roast lamb). Dessert I had was okay, not scrumptuous. But the rest and ambience was lovely.

An exceptional wine! I recomend it!

A friend and I visited !Khwa ttu recently on a not too cold day. She had her dogs so we sat outside. Didn't know what to expect. Service was most pleasant and willing; roast lamb generous and delicious; house wine good temperature and so reasonable; didn't enjoy the tiny apple tart with the commercial caramel sauce though. All in all - lovely and will definitely go again (will try another dessert though...)

!Khwa ttu is a firm favourite for us and we often take our out-of-town guests for a drive, up the West Coast and stop over at !Khwa ttu for a meal. This is an ideal activity especially if you want to escape the bustle of Cape Town, or take the children on an excursion. On clear and sunny days, you can sit outside and see a glimpse of the sea from high a top the 'koppie', where the restaurant is situated. The best eisbein I've ever tasted has been in Port Elizabeth. Now there is competition, together with mashed potatoes and veg. In winter you're welcomed by the crackling fire to warm up icy toes and fingers. The decor is natural and fitting for the educational environment. There's so much more to choose from on the menu, you're guaranteed to find a meal to fill the spot, a relaxed space to breathe in fresh air for you and a vast space for the children to run around, and an awareness of what the cultural centre is teaching us about the San culture.

Never disappointing, always authentic, seldom less than a great day out.
