Dine with your favourite wine-maker The Square Restaurant and Sushi Bar’s Gourmet Wine Events are dinner parties with a difference.

At the launch on 23 April, expect to see Meerlust owner Hannes Myburgh and the estate’s cellar master Chris Williams, along with Johan Malan from Simonsig, Lowell Jooste from Klein Constantia, Kevin Arnold from Waterford and Mike Ratcliffe from Warwick.

This is a rare chance to hobnob with iconic wine-makers while enjoying gourmet food. There’s no need to feel intimidated. “Diners are encouraged to simply relax and enjoy the evening,” says food and beverage manager Gawie Marx. “It’s an informal event and wine-makers and estate owners will mingle with guests throughout the evening. The chefs (pictured, chef Shane Louw) will also be around to talk to guests. The idea is just to have fun.”

There will be two Gourmet Wine Events every month from 23 April to 29 October, and the cost is R249 per person.
