For the past three years, the Mail & Guardian has collected soup on behalf of the homeless and underprivileged in need of sustenance during the chilly winter months.
This year, together with iZindaba, they would like to challenge companies and individuals to hold a Soup Tax Day on 7 May 2010 – asking people to take a can or packet of soup to the office on Soup Tax Day.
The soup will be distributed to soup kitchens, schools and various charities. Eat Out is joining the 2010 initiative by donating a packet of soup for every person that visits the site between 12 noon on Friday 30 April and 12 noon on Saturday 1 May.
Every click means a packet of soup for a child. To have your Soup Tax collected contact Lelanie du Plessis on 011 250 73000 or lelaniel@mg.co.za
