BBB partner Charles Coelho has retained his interest in the North Coast venture, and has branched out with chef Justin Maharaj to open Rendezvous Restaurant in Lighthouse Mall.
Dollied up in sophisticated black, white and red, it’s an intimate venue with an interesting menu that’s strong on presentation.
A generous portion of crab and shrimp ravioli is served on dukkah-spiced butternut; rump is teamed with a marrowbone sauce; and Norwegian salmon comes as a seared slab on crab and pea risotto. The beef espetada is spectacular, and don’t leave without trying one of the gourmet-style pizzas.
We recommend the one with Parma ham, preserved figs, grilled artichokes and Camembert. Desserts are stunning. Try a deconstructed pastry with orange and Frangelico crème anglaise or raspberry panacotta with a sorbet shot and coffee brûlée.
