Mussel soup and marrow bones on toast

Up the coast at Salt Rock, Jacqui Rey of Food Matters’ fame has taken over the former Umami at Dunkirk Estate. Calling it first Fabulous Flavours, and now Mangetout, she is running it as an all-day café, opening for dinner on Thursday and Friday nights from the end of May.

The accent is on fresh, seasonal produce, the style is retro and the vibe relaxed. Think fresh mussel soup, marrow bones on toast with parsley and caper salad, terrine with guava jelly and beef rib eye with Bernaise and French fries. Take your own wine as there’s no licence yet.
