A child-friendly wine festival

While the phrases child friendly and wine festival are rarely used in the same sentence, the Stellenbosch Wine Valley is doing everything it can to make its upcoming American Express Stellenbosch Wine Festival, which takes place between 1 and 5 July, a true family affair.

In addition to a range of top-notch wines, Middelvlei boasts a menagerie of animals, including pygmy goats, tortoises and geese and, most famously, a donkey named Jerepigo thatll cart the kids around the farm.

Welmoed is set to wow the little ones with a magic show while parents tuck into delectable spitbraai and potjiekos at the Duck Pond Restaurant. Bellevue will give aspiring cowboys the chance to go on a guided horse ride through the estate, and take families on tractor rides to see the worlds oldest commercially planted pinotage vineyard. L’Avenir will give the tots ample opportunity to work off excess energy at their indoor jumping castle. And thats not even half of what’s on offer.
