I always have a great time here! The garden aesthetic is perfect for brunch and taking in some sunshine. The food is generally reliable and service is always good. My default order is pretty much always the shakshuka but I've heard the rest of the menu is fabulous too. La Vie en Rose is the perfect family brunch spot!

We love going to La Vie En Rose. The food is delicious and the ambiance and service are wonderful. It is one of the few nice restaurants in Joburg that isn't based in a shopping center or that looks onto a road or carpark. We love this about La Vie! At night the fairy-lights create a beautiful setting and in the day the grass and trees give you a small escape from the bustle of the city.

I love the outside garden area where you can have a good meal and still be outside, especially in the city. Lovely, friendly staff. The coffees do need some TLC to be excellent but very acceptable. The light lunches are great with tasty salad options.

Everything about this eatery is splendid! From the attentive, friendly, pink-shirted staff who are incredibly familiar with the menu (and can make well informed beverage and meal recommendations) through to the delightful surroundings and the mouthwatering meals. All dishes are elegantly named after rose varietals, adding to the sophistication of this gorgeous restaurant. Set in gardens under the canopy of a majestic oak tree, the outdoor dining area is THE place to tuck into a Most Unusual Day salad whilst sipping on a perfectly chilled glass of wine from their well thought through wine list. My husband loves the Chic pasta and the Falling In Love Again iced tea (a delicately refreshing fruity iced tea). BUT No meal at La Vie En Rose is complete without a dessert...and boy, are you in for a real treat! From the First Kiss (home made halva ice cream dripping with Nachtmuzik chocolate sauce) to the Careless Love (parcels of phyllo filled with Toblerone chocolate and served with berry coulis to the incomparable Forever Young (deep fried Oreo cookies served with a glass of milk and trio of home made ice cream). We have dined here many, many times. Every meal at this establishment is well presented, is prepared fresh and is served by an attentive team who is dedicated to delivering fantastic service. I highly recommend a visit to La Vie En Rose.

Went to dinner to La Vie en Rose on Friday July 17th, using a Groupon, and it was awesome. What impressed me the most was the very friendly service and the food all seemed to made from top quality ingredients. My wife had the mushroom starter while I had halloumi cheese - both delicious and my starter was accompanied by about 10 delicious olives. My main of fillet steak was large and melt in the mouth tender while my wife's chicken breasts were also very nice. The desert was again a substantial and delicious waffle with peanut butter, banana and ice cream while my wife's Tablarone pastry was also very nice. We will definitely be back!
