The swish Beverly Hills ladies’ luncheons are a don’t- miss-stop on the social circuit and the forthcoming event tonight has been billed as an Indian extravaganza. To celebrate 150 years of Indian culture in South Africa, guest speaker and internationally renowned Indian cuisine specialist Alexis Kriel, will be sharing her journey of food experiences. In her 10 years of living in Indian temples, she practised the culture of the East and became a passionate cook, known for her masterful combinations of exotic tastes, textures and colours. Thereafter, ingratiate your palate with a gingered pumpkin soup with apple chutney.
Main course includes butter lettuce with minted cucumbers and strawberries; coconut and cashew nut rice with mustard seed and curry leaf tempering; baked butternut, beetroot, paneer cheese and chick peas with golden saffron sauce; coriander fish parcels and peach chutney. Dessert is saffron and pistachio kulfi with fresh fruit and pistachio praline. The cost is R260 per person. To book call The Beverly Hills on 031-561-2211 or email lorna@platinumcc.co.za
