Street parties are traditionally held on historic occasions, such as the Queen’s Jubilee or royal weddings. It is fitting, then, that Stellenbosch will celebrate 333 years of existence with a stylish street banquet on 20 April 2012.

Iconic Drostdy Street will be closed off and laid out with tables, chairs and tablecloths, and local performers including Laurinda Hofmeyr, Schalk van der Merwe, Lynette Pietersen, Roman Alexander, Niel Rademan, Pietman Geldenhuys and Ollie Viljoen will play live music from 6pm to 10.30pm.

Residents and visitors can book a seat at one of the tables for R100. Chairs, tables and tablecloths will be provided, but bring along your own picnic, drinks, cutlery and crockery, and décor for your table. The dress code is white, and there are prizes for the best white outfit, best hat, and best table decoration.
