Taste of Cape Town will once again bring together top restaurants and exhibitors to treat the city’s dedicated foodies at Green Point Cricket Club from Thursday 19 April to Sunday 22 April 2012.
Expect delicious samples from the menus of the city’s premium restaurants; offerings from award-winning wineries, premium drink brands and artisan producers; boutique exhibitors; and fantastic entertainment.
Crowns, the festival currency used to buy food and drinks, can be pre-purchased or bought on the day using cash or credit card. Each Crown is worth R5 and prices range from four to eight Crowns per dish. (Change is offered in Crowns only.)
Chefs from Bistro Sixteen82 (read last year's interview with chef Brad Ball), Planet Restaurant, Il Leone, Azure, La Colombe, La Mouette, Tokara, Jordan, The Pot Luck Club and more will be featured. This year, Taste of Cape Town also presents a line-up of interactive programmes for food-related education and entertainment.
The Pick n Pay Fresh Living Chef’s Theatre is a unique opportunity to see the city’s top chefs in action, featuring demos, culinary challenges, entertaining tutorials and Q&A sessions.
The Pick n Pay Wine and Canapé Experience is an interactive area where guests will learn how to create simple and stylish canapés while wine experts instruct them on how to pair each with wine.
The Snowflake Pancake Feature will demonstrate how to make the perfect pancakes for starters, the main course and sweet desserts. Bring the kids to the kiddies’ corner where they can decorate their own cupcakes.
