Coucher de Soleil (Clifton Sunset)

This bold cocktail has strong hints of basil coupled with the sweetness of seasonal blueberry. The addition of bitters and cranberry juice helps lengthen the cocktail, adding character to the drink.

Serves: 1

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

25ml Grey Goose vodka
1 spoon blueberry jam
3 basil leaves
50ml cranberry juice
2 dashes bitters
blueberries

Method

Add Grey Goose, blueberry jam, basil, cranberry juice and bitters to shaker. Add cubed ice, shake until chilled. Serve into a martini or whisky glass.

Tip: Although not always taken note of, the quality of the ice you use plays a huge factor in your cocktails. It is also believed that the more ice you add the more it will dilute, but in truth it is the opposite. The colder the drink is, the less it will dilute.
