Owner's description

Since the first restaurant opened in 1990, Panarottis has grown with 58 restaurants across the country and 6 restaurants abroad. A slice of Panarottis pizza can be enjoyed as far afield as Namibia and Australia.

With a dynamic positioning of “Big on Family, Big on Pizza”, Panarottis is able to create an exciting family eating experience that has developed into a highly recognised brand. Panarottis was the first South African pizza and pasta restaurant to create the famed family-sized “Monsterito” pizza in 1999—measuring almost half a metre wide, it can easily satisfy the whole family. Panarottis takes pride in the fact that their pizzas are made to order—their dough is freshly prepared with toppings that are of the very best quality.

As the parent of a very busy toddler my first priority when eating out as a family is that I will have half a chance of sitting still long enough to eat my food. The play area is perfect - covering a range of ages and Florence does a great job with the kids. We have eaten there twice, unintentionally both Thursdays when the all you can eat pizza is offered. On both occasions the play area did its job. However, on the first visit I had a better experience with the food. I skipped the all you can eat offer and ordered a vegetarian pizza which had delicious pesto on it. Remembering the pesto I decided to pig out on pesto & pasta the next visit. Unfortuantely I should have paid attention to the "creamed" part of the description as that was really the basis of the sauce. Somehow chicken got added, which I didn't ask for and despite being assured I wouldn't be charged for it, I discovered we were (my husband paid the bill while I was occupied). The bolognaise sauce which came with the kiddies pasta also had a "mass-produced/jar bought" taste and was lacking in meatiness. Everyone is friendly and it is truly "child firendly" as opposed to the majority of restaurants where that means you can bring them but it will be awkward and difficult and really you'll wish you hadn't (in fact Eat Out - you really need to review the criteria for that service). Next time we will try and avoid Thursday, in fact we'll definitely go on a Tuesday and take advantage of the two for one offer - I have been dreaming of that pesto pizza.
It is a THursday night 11 of June 2015. The problem here is that we have waited over 40 minutes to get in , then it takes ......20 to 25 min before any food was given. If not for the waiter that thinks , but for managment to make sure of restuarant is running at more than what they can handle.... I mean how do you put more people in if you cant even handle what you have sitting and waiting. Clearly this is not working....get faster service and know what you limits are ...... Very bad service and believe me this is not the only review they will receive. No music therefore no ambience. Only one side of restaurant served frequently. Rest of us sitting waiting to see whether kitchen can possibly produce another pizza.
