Higher Ground is a veritable hidden Joburg gem – situated on the grounds of St Stithian’s College, with an unsurpassed view of the surrounding suburbs, it offers simple and fresh dishes with a traditional twist. The menu has a Mediterranean flair, with salads, light lunches, bar snacks and main courses to tempt every appetite. The kiddies menu has a great variety for younger diners.

Certainly a favourite of mine! Lovely friendly ambience, great views, can even catch some cricket and rugby live on the flood-lit fields below. Recommend the Pork Belly, Salmon and any of the snack platters.

Beautiful views, but the owner smelled intoxicated called Debra, and with poor service and bad quality of food it is a shame. Big potential but needs a serious wake up call!
