Had the worst experience ever at Cubanna Florida Road Durban! They 1stly stuffed up our booking and when we eventually get a table - the bouncer came 2 our table and said we must leave as he told us the Sat before not 2 set foot here again cz we were supposedly involved in some bar fight as we told him that we live in Johannesburg and were there only for that weekend so he must be getting us confused with other people, he wouldn't hear it and started shouting and causing a scene, our drinks came, we paid the bill immediately as we were soooo pissed off and wanted 2 leave after our 1st drink, the Waitor together with the bouncer said we must go stand by the bar 2 finish our drinks they want 2 give the table 2 other people since we have paid regardless that we still having our drinks... 10mins later the bouncer comes 2 me and says casually oooh iv just seen and threw out the lady who was fighting last week - she looks like you BUT NO APOLOGY or whatsoever!! The staff including the managers there have a stinking attitude and the bouncers run that place, they control everything incl the boss!! This wasn't the first terrible experience but my final straw!!

19 December 2011. We were seated in the outside section of Cubana and had been for over 3 hours. A bouncer came up to us and told us that we were no longer allowed to sit there, we had to sit at the bar, as the police had informed him that the outside seating is considered drinking in public. This was news to us as we frequent Cubana and are always seated outside so we asked the waiter to verify with management. The manager on duty then came to us and said that unfortunately we had to move inside and he would move our table for us. Then the bouncet told him not to do that quite aggressively at which point the manager also reneges on his initial offer to let us move the table inside, he stated that we must move only the chairs inside. When we questioned the logic behind this, both the manager and the bouncer got very confrontational, unnecessarily as we were very calm and asking a simple question as paying customers. The manager later admitted that he didnt know why we couldnt move the table inside, I suspect his ignorance led to him being confrontational. The bouncer then tried to close us out the restuarant. We received no apology, from the bouncer and the 2 managers. Disgusting and unacceptable.

Cubana Stellenbosch, worse experience ever. Bad service, wrong food. I ordered the chicken burrito but it was prepared as a quesadilla. (no big deal really) after 30 minutes it arrived but with the wrong filling. The waiter took it away without a comment and when he returned (with my food) said the kitchen could not prepare the quesadilla which I wanted as the kitchen closes at 23h, it was now 22h50. I decided not to eat anything. My friend ordered a hamburger which had a old dry beef patty. We asked for the manager who never introduced himself. He just sad thats what the burger always tastes like. Well we had better experiences in Cape Town. After mentioning what happened with my quesadilla he only mentioned kitchen is open till 00h00 not only till 23h. Great so the waiter screwed up the order and on top of it lied to us. Never ever again Cubana Stellenbosch!

I have been to Cubana in Claremont a few times now and even though the food is quite good, a lot has to be said for the staff who are just downright rude. I am usually not one to notice such things but its quite ridiculous how the staff there will treat you differently depending on their mood or who you are with and how management seems to think its ok. I really used to love going there but not anymore after they embarrased my friends.
