This is not a review but a reply to the 'review' dated 11 November 2019. (this is the only way i can tell the full story as Eatout does not allow restaurants to reply directly to a review) Our kitchen was understaffed last night on a surprisingly busy Monday with every table used. One of our chefs was on leave; the other was on a day off, so our sous chef was alone for her first time (I have to praise her as apart from this incident she did a great, professional job) Yes, one of your ravioli dishes was cold and we quickly prepared a new plate. Nobody complained about the lasagna - the dish was returned empty so it was clearly not inedible as you describe. This morning I chatted with the clients who’d sat by you and they asserted that my manager acted very professionally even when you called him an IDIOT, and started yelling that ‘WE MUST SACK THE CHEF’ (I seriously wonder if you’d call your bank manager and idiot to his face if there was a problem with your account) After paying you came to me, I listened and agreed that the pasta was not right – explaining kitchens are run by humans and errors can happen, and we’d fixed it as soon as humanly possible. I’m now under the impression that you wanted the whole dinner (for 4 people) for free, after having eaten everything. However, the moment you started shouting YET AGAIN and calling my manager an IDIOT (several times) you lost every right to complain and to even be in my restaurant. The respect i demand for my staff is much higher that the fear i have of losing this type of clientele. Massimo Orione, owner of Massimo's restaurant.

Awful experience at Massimos tonight. We are Monday regulars and when our food arrived, one of our guest’s pastas was still FROZEN. We called the manager and he was very curt and sarcastic. We then approached the owner after our meal who listened to our complaints and replied that we mustn’t come back, without any apology. Obviously the undue title has gotten to their heads... very disappointing

Massimo’s- the mass-es will be i(e)mo -tional after they’ve been here. The best pizzeria in Africa that has a paying it forward system which allows you to fill up on the carbs guilt-free. The pizza is also only in the oven for 90 seconds creating a well balanced thin base pizza, cooked through that is moist. Food: light, fresh, delicate, no oiliness, Absolutely loved the Porcella pizza with no tomato base as a first try. The thin base handmade pizzas make for a light yet filling meal. This is definitely the best pizzeria on the African continent. If you like coffee and ice cream- this will make you go- mmmmmmmmmm ☺️ Do yourself a favour order the Affogato. Service: as usual excellence all the way around. I must say it is one of the restaurants that have waiters that come at literally the right time to check up on your experience, recommendations are on point and always a friendly smile. This is a family place that’s reminds you to put your phone away, meaningful conversations are taking place. Family above everything. Ambience: it feels like home away from home with a whole lot more comfort food that fills the spot,. It’s intimate yet gives space for you to bring the whole family along, young and old.

SHOCKING SERVICE OWNER VERY AGGRESSIVE TO CRITICISM CALLED SECURITY DID NOT DEFUSE SITUATION OF A VERY UNHAPPY CLIENT WOULD NOT LISTEN GOT VERY HEATED THROUGH US OUT , BUT SERVICE SHOCKING AND HIS ATTITUDE WAS TOTALLY UNRESPONSIVE AND DEFENSIVE.

Absolutely delicious authentic pizza, such a big variety to choose from. A warm welcoming atmosphere and the service is always great. They are so generous and donate a lot to charity so I will definitely support them as much as I can. Highly recommended :)
