If fresh, succulent seafood is what you are after in Umhlanga - then Lord Prawn is sure to be a real crowd pleaser! If you choose to sit inside the old nautical decor will take you back in time and you will feel like you are being treated to a delicious meal on the Titanic. The service is always excellent, even when they are packed - which is more often than not!
Look out for their lunchtime specials and don't forget to have a pina colada... or three!

Went to Lord prawn on for supper, got seated order a kg of prawns for my wife n I captains platter n a bottle of Durban ville ,food was good . So it was time for desert ordered Dom pedro , when it came had a sip n to my taste buds just ice cream. So I called the waiter, came n asked him how do Lord prawns make their Dom Pedro "ice cream n whiskey!" Simple! Well didn't say what was wrong I asked him can I have another but this time pls bring the whiskey separate, he did so . In front of him I poured the whiskey into my glass of ice cream , mixed it n guess what now it tastes different. So now I asked for the manager he came goes on to say can make another one so I go on n tell him there's two one just ice cream n one I mixed . All he had to say is they did make what I ordered after telling him why is there two different taste goes on justifying n to add they took both away. I asked for my bill , n what they charged for both. Which I never had. Further more there's a Indian waiter which has been there for years in his mid 40s he always pushes u to go with the most expensive item on the menu n goes on to say when paying the bill don't pay the tip in cause it goes in a pool for everyone. For asked to give his tip cash in his hand and this not the first time it happened

My favorite restaurant since 1989. Drove down from Underberg to enjoy the prawns, the staff were great as usual and very welcoming. Pity we live so far away now otherwise we would still be regulars !
