The best sushi in the Western Cape or so I believe . The chefs prepare sushi in front of you. Authentic fresh, sushi, crispy Tuna and beef and black bean are by far our favorites. Luckily we live in Obs so we just walk down.

Food was fresh and well made... so excellent, however, be prepared to spend some money here. However I will not be returning because the covid principles of social distancing is not applied at all.

Amazing value for money , beautifully fresh ingredients , good music. The staff is super friendly , always greet people when they enter or leave. They run a tight shift - food arrives swiftly and the work area behind the sushi bar is always tidy and top notch.

Have heard so many good reports about 1890 House Sushi and Grill - and it certainly lived up to the promise! Set in a number of rooms in an old Observatory semi-detached building, the ambience is surprisingly cosy for a sushi spot. The front room has a sushi counter for a quicker meal, while the other rooms have tables where you can order platters and plates as you wish, and have a more leisurely evening out. All the sushi I ordered was absolutely delicious - and good value considering sushi prices these days. I went for the classic options of salmon roses and spicy tuna salad - and they were both excellent. Everybody at the table loved their food, and we'll definitely be back.

Our go-to Friday night dinner, the first thing you'll notice is that nearly everyone seems to be a regular, warmly greeted by Charlie and the staff. Sushi is always good, and kids love choosing their own dinner from the conveyor.
