We were lucky enough to dine at this restaurant last week Saturday. There were 5 of us seated inside right by the windows. The gorgeous views of the Camps Bay beach could not have looked better! We were greeted by friendly staff at the front door before being ushered off to our table by our waitron, 'Snake'. Service: Snake spent the entire evening looking after not just us, but all his tables with great ease, seeming determined for us to not have to lift a finger! During our 3 hour dinner we did not have to pour drinks or search for him to request replenishments, he was always there. What an absolute pleasure! Managers checked on us regularly, including the friendly owner, which is always a special touch at restaurants. For service, 5/5. Food: We ordered the following dishes for starters - Caesar salad - perfectly seasoned dressing, chicken was tender, crispy bacon. What more can I say! Feta and pepperdew pizza/flatbread - crispy thin base, garlic was a touch raw but that's to expected in Italian style restaurants. Overall, delicious. For mains we ordered the following- Beef fillet - was perfectly cooked, potatoes were seasoned perfectly, basting they use is delicious. Atlantico seafood pizza - a seafood lovers dream over flowing with seafood, crispy thin base and again, very well seasoned. Quattro formaggi pizza - I requested caramalised onions (I like to cut the richness of the cheese with something slightly sweet). WELL DONE! The first restaurant in a very long time that actually managed to make some perfectly caramalised onions. Well done chef... Prawn linguine - I think my fiancé inhaled this it was so good. Prawns perfectly cooked, a creamy sauce and we topped it with some parmesan. A must have for pasta and seafood lovers. Veal 'Lemone' - The veal was juicy and tender. You could taste the lemon in the sauce but it was not overpowering like at so many other restaurants. The flavours were very well balanced. For dessert we devoured the following: Deep fried bar one - need I say more? Slightly chewy from the deep fried nougat with proper vanilla ice cream, not that cheap one that has water crystals in it, it was smooth and creamy. The cheese platter for two - had a great assortment of cheeses, plenty for two people after a two course meal. Overall, I am still shocked at how good all the food was. I am incredibly hard to please, and for a table of my friends and family to have no complaints about the food is quite something! The only thing is that the presentation could do with a bit of updating, but that is if I am really looking for something to moan about. For the food: 4.5/5 Ambience:The restaurant was almost full on Saturday, yet the managers, owner and waitrons were still on top of their game without running around like headless chickens. When the sun went down and the temperature cooled, without requesting it, the owner began to close the sliding glass doors so that we did not get cold. It is these small things that matter. I would say the restaurant is perfect for a Sunday afternoon drink after some time on the beach, or a fancy date night out. Yes, it is pricey, but that is to be expected in Camps Bay. It is still within the price range of that area, it is not exorbitant and the portion sizes are good. Tuscany Beach, you have a new fan and I will be sure to spread the word about our amazing experience. Thank you for giving us hope that there are still restaurants out there that value their service as much as their food!
