September brought you a pizza by rugby player Butch James and MasterChef 2013 winner Kamini Pather, followed by October’s creation by cricketer JP Duminy and Wynand van Rooyen of The Flying Boar. This month, you can look forward to another combo of sport and chef talent for the final Col’Cacchio Celebrity Chef Series pizza for 2015.
For each month in the series the selected athlete has shared his ultimate pizza toppings with his chef partner, who has tweaked them to come up with something unique and mouth-watering. And here’s where the diners come in: every time you choose one of these delicious creations from a Col’Cacchio branch, R5 will go to the Children’s Hospital Trust, so they can upgrade the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
This November, former Bafana Bafana soccer star Jabu Mahlangu and Ivor Jones, head chef at one of our 20 nominees, The Test Kitchen, will be serving up The Aegean pizza (R125) for a flavoursome taste of the Mediterranean. This exciting creation comprises a hummus base with mozzarella, spinach, feta, miso-cured lamb, Peppadew® Piquanté Peppers, tahini mayo and crunchy phyllo flakes.
To support the Col’Cacchio Celebrity Chef Series, sponsored by Heineken, Tabasco, Place in the Sun wines, Coca-Cola, Rialto, Appletiser and Parmalat, and to help the guys meet their fundraising target, choose The Aegean from a Col’Cacchio branch this month.
