A new family-run bistro, Bizerca, is set to breathe some life into Cape Towns businessy foreshore.
After 17 years in Australia, chef Laurent – a born and bred Frenchman – and his South African wife, Cyrillia, have decided to bring their culinary expertise to the southern tip of Africa.
Combining his background in classic French cuisine with his experience in the kitchens of Sydney, Laurent creates daily specials according to the fresh produce that is available.
Evenings are devoted to Tapas while on the bistro-style lunch menu patrons can expect such delicious creations as roasted shoulder of pork with apple and celeriac gratin, baby spinach and eschalotte jam, or free range duck leg with gizzard pork belly, green puy lentil and roasted parsnip.
Dessert comes in classic combinations such as Belgian chocolate tart with vanilla bean ice-cream or Granny Smith sorbet with Calvados.
