In the run-up to Food Studio, a conference that will take place next month, food-design specialist Studio H has launched The Swop Shop pop-up in Cape Town.

The Food Studio conference will be a platform for local and international thought leaders, producers, farmers and designers to discuss the changing ways we think about food. The Swop Shop will begin the conversation at Chandler House at 53 Church Street from 12 noon until 3pm on 26–28 July, and again for one night only on 3 August for First Thursdays.

The shop will be stocked with one-of-a-kind products linked to speakers that will be at the inaugural conference. Think jams made from ugly fruit; sea bacon popcorn; heirloom seed packets; water in illustrated bottles; an issue of Chips! zine; and organic produce. To get your hands on one of these foodie products is super easy: Simply share your most vivid food memory and receive one of the quirky items in return.
