This dynamic food truck takes its inspiration from New York street vendors, delivering fresh, hot food to people on-the-go. Menu highlights include the Big Boy Kota, which is grandiose in both flavour and presentation. This signature dish is made up of saucy chips, chicken polony, cheese, a fried egg, crispy bacon rashers, a juicy Russian sausage, a succulent beef patty and spicy Atchaar, all served in a ¼ loaf of fresh white bread.
A crowd favourite, the Russian Roll hot dog consists of a succulent cheese griller sausage, drizzled generously with creamy mayo and spicy saucy, served on a pillowy hot dog roll. The Kota House Porto, comprised of a generous portion of fresh chips drizzled in sauce and layered with smoky sliced sausage, is the definition of comfort food.

A one-man operation for the first half of the day, Durban Kota House chef and co-owner, Thando, is the epitome of service excellence. Friendly, helpful and efficient from start to finish, Thando was engaging, approachable and full of amusing anecdotes.
From offering his guidance with directions, to assisting me with packing the meals into my car, to following up via WhatsApp a mere half an hour after I left, Thando truly went the extra mile to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Chef extraordinaire, grill master, young entrepreneur, customer liaison and so much more, Thando is an essential element to Durban Kota House’s increasing popularity!
