Seeing celebrities around Cape Town in the summer isn’t uncommon. Simply stroll into one of the city’s uber-cool restaurants or bars and you’re bound to spot a tanned, casually dressed (almost inconspicuous) Hollywood A-lister. Gerard Butler was seen at the V&A Waterfront yesterday adopting a puppy. See? Casual.

Ed Westwick – known for portraying Chuck Bass, the conniving and impeccably dressed character in the hit series Gossip Girl – has been in the country with his South African-born girlfriend Tamara Francesconi, presumably on holiday.

Ed posted a photo to his Instagram account in early January from The Oysterbox Hotel in Umhlanga and now he’s arrived in the Mother City. He was spotted having lunch on Tuesday at Locanda at Villa 47, a streetside Italian restaurant in Bree Street known for its fresh pasta and cool, sophisticated ambience.
