Reza, who is close friends with The Giggling Gourmet, Jenny Morris, was here to plan a few things with her before their stint together in Doha later this year. The duo often works together on projects like the popular Jenny & Reza’s Fabulous Food Academy, and both are big names in the Middle East. They’ve attended many food festivals in the region and continue to bring their combined culinary flair to Qatar’s major events.

We managed to grab him while he was in Cape Town to find out which local spots he just has to visit when he’s in the Mother City. “I like to go to all the little hidden places,” he said with excitement. “There are some fabulous places in Woodstock and I like their food markets, but I really like food that isn’t over-engineered. No fuss or frills.”
Here are the three spots where you’re most likely to find him:
“It’s fabulous. It’s really good. I don’t go to all the over-convoluted places. I like good, tasty food.”

“They do very, very good sushi there,” says Reza.
“It’s absolutely delicious. The meat is so pure and it’s not fatty… but they’re always busy.”
