Stop the press. Craft in Parkhurst has come to the insane desserts party with new freak hot chocolates, topped with churros, Nutella-infused whipped cream and sticky caramel sauce. Worthy of its name, the drink-and-meal-in-one comes in two versions: loaded hot chocolate and loaded salted caramel.
The loaded hot chocolate features a chocolate truffle cake topped in thick chocolate, smothered in whipped cream infused with Nutella and caramel, and served with a generous stuffing of house-made churros drizzled in white-chocolate caramel sauce. It’s served with additional churros (you know, for just in case) on the side for dunking.
The loaded salted caramel version has a layer of house-made traditional milk tart and sticky sweet-and-salted hot caramel, which is then smothered in whipped cream infused with Nutella and caramel, topped with churros drizzled in salted-caramel sauce and a salted-caramel disk, and comes served with churros on the side.
The freak hot chocolates cost R98 each – and probably a million cheat points.
Craft general manager Wesley Whitehead explains, “Our milkshakes are the inspiration behind the freak hot chocolates, but we wanted to do something decadent and warm for winter.”
Is there something salty on the menu we should pair with one to cut the sweetness? Wesley says you probably won’t be able to manage much else. “It’s a monster on its own.”
Challenge accepted.
omg…this is simply divine…
