I recently discovered Truth and have to say it is some of the best coffee in town. Although more of a coffee bar than restaurant it is worth checking out.

This spot is perfect in summer and winter. They give 3 hours free WiFi each day, have the best artisan roasted coffee in town and friendly and efficient staff. They are located in the heart of Cape Town, with a view of gorgeous Table Mountain to inspire anyone!

This place has the feel of a cold museum coffee, which I guess it is. With only 4 guests in the establishment I believe it was a bit unreasonable to take 25 minutes, and 2 reminders, to make a cappuccino and a coffee. The 3 French soccer supporters, sitting at the wooden crate type table next to us, will certainly not return to this place after angrily complaining about the slow service and walking out. Not the way anyone would want to start their soccer supporting day.Clearly with all the shouting and prancing coming from behind the counter, these guys are trying way too hard to emulate another very successful coffee experience, unsuccessfully. Get the product right and then you can put on a show and this product is extremely far from right. My much anticipated cappuccino was cold whilst my partner’s coffee was so hot, she could not hold the cup. The rich chocolate tartlet was probably from the previous day and therefore not all that fresh but the chocolate certainly was rich and made up for the cold coffee.Another point that annoyed both us and the French soccer visitors is that the chap mopping the floor did it while we were sipping out coffees in a way that he actually loomed over our tables in a way that I actually asked him to return after we had left. Surely the floors should be cleaned before service? If they are going to want to capitalise on the passing market they are going to have to up their game hugely.
