Kong Roast used to be my absolute favourite restaurant, although sorry to say that after last night I will most likely not return. The service was unbelievably bad, they didn’t have 3 of the bottles of wine we ordered, it took them around 10 minutes each time to come back and let us know that they didn’t have it. We then ordered starters and 45 minutes later, we were given some random thing on the menu as they did not have the starters we ordered either. No one bothered to tell us they didn’t have the starters or give us an option to choose others. We sent back two of the mail meals which was ostrich because it was so salty, it was inedible. Absolutely disappointed in what was once my favourite restaurant. They also sang happy birthday to certain people at certain tables but ignored the fact even though we told them that it was my boyfriend’s mother’s birthday.
After bragging to our family about this amazing restaurant, imagine my embarrassment once we all go there.

Very impressed. All 5 of us had stunning starters, mains and dessert! The chocolate pizza was a big hit!

I have eaten at Red Chilli Spice on a number of occassions and have tried many of the dishes on the extensive menu. I have enjoyed my meal thoroughly on every single occassion.
The food is well flavoured and spiced. It is by far the best curry in the North of Johannesburg. I like the variety of starters and main courses on the menu as well as the relaxed setting and great wine selection.
It will definitely go down as my favourite Indian restaurant in Joburg and I will keep on going back if the standard of food stays as it is.

The stellenbosch branch has the worst management I have ever seen. I am utterly surprised that this restaurant has not closed down yet due to terrible managers. The many managers can never be found when there is a problem and even if they can be found they blame the waiters for problems occurring in the kitchen, bar or payment machines. The waiters are great at their jobs and I've often seen them treated unfairly. Personally this restaurant would function much better if it treated its staff better, fixed all its broken machinery and got rid of the ghastly managers who perform no function at all. At this point in time this restaurant is merely a waste of time.

This is by far my favourite restaurant in Cape Town (and not because it's across the road from us). We frequent it on a weekly basis almost and cannot get enough of the amazing wood fired pizzas, friendly service and cozy atmosphere. When thinking pizza I almost always recommend Bardelli's (in Town and Kenilworth). I've tried a few of the pastas too and my favourrites have to be the butternut ravioli, gnocchi and Bardelli's bake. Unfortunately there's never any room for dessert, but i'm sure it's just as good as the rest of the food. The waiters are a little slow, but honestly their charm and charisma make up for it more than 100%. We love Bardelli's!

What an awesome evening we had at Passage to India in Tableview. We were very lucky to get a table, the restaurant was full and now I know why. The food and service was excellent.

With its name and location in central Hout Bay in a shopping/business district it all appears quite predictable. We finally went and experienced charming service from the family who run it, food full of flavour and starters and desserts with a creative twist. We enjoyed the Courtyard and the whole experience of this neighborhood venue and look forward to being back.

Despite being told the steaks were the best at Dixies, mine was terrible, dry and burnt. Wouldn't recommend the steak.

We went for Sunday buffet lunch, prawns were included on the menu but I'm so mad that someone (possibly the owner) stood next to the prawns and limited quantities by dishing up for customers and questioning how many times they've been back for prawns. What kind of a rubbish buffet is this? I feel cheated! Take the prawns off the menu if you are so stingy!

Was there a bit more than a week ago, had the most amazing lasagne, would give anything to get the recipe, but was told it wasn't in Evita's recipe book. Can't get over how delicious it was...pity I won't be able to taste it again because I live 1000km away.

What a bunch of hot air this place is. The food is ho hum.. small portions. It's so much hype. Expensive.

Scrumptious breakfast. The French toast, poached eggs, and their breakfast BLT are all absolutely delicious. The food tastes as good as it looks. Will certainly return.

Dreadful lunch. I have never seen a Salad Nicoise so badly presented and tasteless fish and chips. Not an experience to repeat.
