As a bistro, Junipa’s serves breakfast, lunch and supper seven days a week. The wood-fired pizza oven features an area for children to build their own pizzas, adding to the Junipa’s experience.
The coffee roastery uses raw beans to make fresh and fragrant coffees in a variety of blends, and Junipa’s famed bakery produces a range of fresh artisanal breads, pastries and cakes made the old-fashioned way.
Signature dishes like the crème brûlée brioche and Loch Duarte Scottish salmon turn first-time visitors into regulars. As the specials are inspired by the seasons, there’s always something for everyone – no matter the weather or climate.“Just about everything on the Junipa’s menu is made on the premises. Our food can be described as easy-going and uncomplicated, and our philosophy is to let the flavours of simple and fresh ingredients speak for themselves.
Breakfast is a natural cross-over to lunch, which then flows easily into dinner, making diners feel comfortable with the organic nature of the dishes on offer,” explains executive chef, Jean-Pierre Smith.

Hey Eat Out,
Junipas has closed down in Hobart, please update your app accordingly.
An amazing Doppio Zero has opened up instead.
Kind regards

Went to breakfast at Junipas this morning. Awful service, we were only assisted after flagging down a waiter 10 minutes after we sat down. I ordered eggs Benedict and was served eggs on toast. After querying this, I was told they have no muffins. Decided to soldier on and make the best of it. After cutting through my egg, water ran out of it. Very undercooked. When I advised the waiter, another lady came out (I assume a supervisor or manager) and proceeded to ask me how I want my eggs cooked. No apologies, no hello. After telling her about the experience she turned around and walked away. Still no apology. She returned a few minutes later to tell me muffins were now available and she would replace the meal. Why did no one tell me that I could have waited 10 minutes and actually got what I ordered upfront? Nobody knows...and quite honestly it seems nobody at Junipas cares. I payed for my drink and left without eating and without an apology for the shocking service. The management team is also quite shocking as they seem to be quite disinterested in guests experience. They are all mostly huddled around the till inside the restaurant instead of being on the floor. The patrons at the table next to me we're also complaining about the service they received but again, no one at Junipas seemed too bothered. Will never return and advise others not to either till the service issues are addressed.

I said never again after our first visit a year ago!!! But everyone deserves a second chance ...right?
So on Saturday my daughter and I went to Junipa's for lunch.... it is the first time ever that I have not given a tip - we were so frustrated and so angry.
Last year our experience was as follows: We arrived at 11h50 to order lunch ... at this ALL DAY BISTRO..... we sat down looked at the menu and after about five minutes or so asked if we could order... we were told that we could not order lunch as the kitchen has a "change over" at 12h00 and we can only order lunch from 12h15 ...note that we could not order breakfast either for the same reason? So we were told if we were prepared to wait until 12h15 then they would help us! UM.... no plenty of restaurants around .... even those who don’t advertise "ALL DAY" take orders all day, so we left? Seriously?!
And then to Saturday's experience... my daughter was unhappy to give them another try - I persuaded her. We sat down, a lovely waitress greeted us ... we ordered at 13h10....we received our food (after asking various staff members as our waitress had disappeared) at about 14h15!! We ordered beer battered fish and chips; and my daughter ordered salmons fish cakes …she was given the option of a potato stack or salad, she chose the potato stack. We sat and finished our drinks, waited and waited, then asked and asked – we kept being told “two minutes” ….eventually the food arrived… my fish and chips was lovely – crunchy chips …no tartar sauce (asked for it and got a little bowl of mayonnaise with julienne carrots – tasted like soap); my daughter got her fish cakes but with about 10 “chips”…..lily white and sloppy (a complete contrast to my lovely wedges …seemed like they had either run our of time, wedges or both)…BUT she had ordered a potato stack. On enquiring from yet another staff member, we were told that the waitress that took our order should have explained that in this restaurant a potato stack actually means chips?!! I asked to see the manager…. By this time my daughter was more than half way through her fish cakes leaving the awful chips as she was hungry…. The manager came over and I asked about the potato stack and why on earth it would be described as that on the menu if it should have said chips? He was surprised by what we had been told and went off to the kitchen to get the potato stack. As we finished our meals, as we had to leave for an appointment, the potato stack arrived – it was too late!
The “chef” spent the entire time walking around the restaurant in a very dirty black chef’s jacket. Possibly if he had spent more time in the kitchen checking on the orders at the pass, the food would be sent out on time and the orders would be correct?
The staff seemed in “disarray” and didn’t seem to have allocated “stations” to serve.
